Academic research and writing are hard. My coaching process points the way forward, so you can stay on track with your work.
Hi, Iām Kate.
While I was working on my dissertation, I became a mom and changed my academic career path. I collected my data, struggled mightily with analysis, and rewrote my literature review at least three times. I wondered if I would ever finish. I wondered if I wanted to finish. I wondered if I should quit.
With support from a peer writing group and my family, I persevered, defending my dissertation while I was pregnant with my second child. Today, I treasure everything I learned from sticking with it and completing my degree.
Now I get to use that experience to help others. Combined with my experience leading a university writing center, teaching first-year writing, and teaching research methods, my personal trek on the rocky path to a PhD makes me a knowledgeable and compassionate guide. I help doctoral students, faculty, and other researchers find their north stars and take the next step forward.
